Works better than nickel in my experience for trout while in a Kayak. I bought new one, nickel back of course but I went to a craft store and bought a copper paint. they had chrome and copper paint. I then taped off the front and painted the back with a copper paint. Been around for a long time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective lure and casts far. *by A***N on November 27, 2021* Caught a mackerel and a lizard fish with this Dardevle spoon off a San Diego pier today. Squirted some fish attractant gel on it that is sticky, after several casts the gel was still sticking to it. It casts far without the need for split-shot, very aerodynamic, but maybe not the smoothest spinning action I've seen while retrieving, but it works! I bought this because of Fishing for Dummies book said it was one of the classics that people have caught all species of fish with. I was amazed today because mostly I have luck with real bait like shrimp, and the fish ignore lures.
