I also like that they suggest bead colors as I am a beginner and a little color challenged. The book discusses bead weaving (using a loom) and applique beading (on fabric), but if you're a beginner you'll probably have to look on YouTube for more info. I think this is more of a pattern/design book than a how-to bead book. I am actually to try to use these patterns for embroidery, which I think is also doable.The first part of the book presents designs for bead weaving and the second part presents designs for applique beading. The bead weaving patterns are smaller than those in the author's book North American Indian Beadwork Patterns North American Indian Beadwork Patterns and in this book there are frequently multiple patterns per page. The applique beading patters are pretty much the same size as in that book.There is no table of contents or index, so if you're looking for designs from or inspired by a particular tribe you have to page through the book. Here's a list of tribes covered. I've tried to be as accurate as possible but provide no guarantee to accuracy. The tribe names are those as printed in the book.
