I purchased this combo set off of Amazon for a week long trip to Tahoe (12/31/22-01/07/23). We needed extra cargo space, and this platform provided more than enough storage for the trip! We put a 60 quart ice chest with food on the back along with a hard sided suitcase, an electric skillet, pot, pan, and electric burner along with other miscellaneous items, and the bag had tons more room! The bag also kept everything dry up and over the Sierra Mountains pass in a huge rain then snow storm! When we arrived in Lake Tahoe, everything was perfect inside. The platform was quick, and super easy to assemble (it comes with tools, and instructions. I had my own socket set to speed it up). Installation on the hitch was quick and easy. The pin held it in place for the ride up. No bouncing or anything as we drove. I also like that it can be lilted up and out of the way once I arrived in Lake Tahoe as I drove around town. During the summer, we can use the platform without the bag as well. The bag is super sturdy, totally waterproof, and way more than enough tie downs & with ratcheting tie down! If you need more storage for your trip, I would suggest this product! It worked great for me!

Was a little worried purchasing this from amazon because it was cheaply priced - but I would definitely recommend it to others! The cargo bag is actually pretty sturdy, and can fit more in it than it looks like it can. The hitch and basket are also pretty durable and well made! This thing made a week long trek from Montana, through Canada, and across Alaska and is still going strong, so I would highly recommend.

We recently used the MeeFar hitch mount cargo basket for an 8-hour road trip and were very pleased with its performance. It’s exceptionally well-built and sturdy, which gave us peace of mind while carrying extra luggage on the back of our SUV. Assembly and installation were straightforward, though the basket is quite heavy. I managed to mount it by myself, but having an extra set of hands would have made aligning the hitch and pin easier. Once installed, it felt very secure. A key feature is the hitch stabilizer, which made a noticeable difference in reducing movement and maintaining balance during the drive. We also tested the folding function before disassembly — it worked smoothly, exactly as advertised. While the basket comes with two straps, I recommend using additional tie-downs or ratchet straps for extra security, especially on longer trips. I didn’t fully trust the included straps to keep everything in place for the entire drive. Overall, the design, ease of use, and durability lived up to expectations. We’re very happy with this purchase and look forward to using it on future vacations. Highly recommended!

Took this on a roughly 900 mile trip, didn't have any problems at all. Didn't encounter any rain, so can't comment on how waterproof the bag is. The total package includes just about everything you'll need to pack and tote your items and mount the whole thing to a trailer hitch (2 inch receiver). The anti-rattle plate that's supplied did exactly what it was supposed to do: no noise/rattles at all as we drove along. Assembly was fairly straightforward. My main concern has to do with the hardware. The bolts and nuts "seemed" well made, but the lock washers seemed cheap: thin, flimsy, and it looked like they're made of a poor grade of metal, and I did NOT TRUST them to keep things securely fastened over a long, possibly bumpy, trip. I STRONGLY suggest that if you use the supplied hardware at a minimum you put thread-lock (e.g., blue Loc-Tite) on the threads. Better yet, replace the supplied nuts (they're all metric, so finding replacements may be tricky) AND the lock-washers with more robust ones. Even better, which is what I did, replace the lock washers and nuts with lock nuts (the ones with nylon inserts), and to make life easier replace everything used for the hitch part with SAE (i.e., not metric) hardware; SAE because it's easier to find the necessary items than finding metric ones. Related to hardware, the kit includes several wrenches to tighten the nuts. They're almost laughable: flat, short, simply stamped metal, and I doubt you can comfortably and effectively use them to tighten the nuts and feel that they'll be and stay secure, especially if you use the cheap lock nuts. Get the proper size box or open-ended wrenches, or sockets, to do the job right and feel confident that nothing is going to work it's way loose and possibly fall apart while on your journey. One other heads-up: The storage bag is made of relatively stiff material (which is good; I think it's the same stuff medical examiners use as body bags), but when the zippers are pulled all the way back (in the "open" position) it's very hard to straighten the corners of the bag to get the zippers on their way to closing. My advice: once you get the zippers away from the full-open position don't pull them completely back to the corners when you're done: leave them 1-2" from the corners. You'll still have plenty of room to insert stuff into he bag and you'll also save yourself the hassle of trying to move the zippers out of the corners to close the bag again.. Overall, a good buy, with some caveats.

Love the hitch. Easy to put together and use. Holds a lot of items. Easy to fold up when not using and space is needed. Great quality and good price.

Exceeded my expectations! I was on a 1000 mile journey cross-country and needed more room than my Jeep offered. I did not want to drag a trailer behind me. I researched my options and found this product. there were others that were similar at a higher price. However, I really liked what this cargo carrier offered with the water proof heavy duty bag and many straps and 500 lbs capacity. I had never used a product like this before but after seeing a youtube video of a guy using one attached to a Honda Odyssey, I figured that I'd give it a try. I put four totes back there and my bike! Just in case, I placed items that were of lesser needs in case something happened. I can tell you that I was super impressed. the Carrier, the straps, the performance was exceptional! It did not falter, and now I can use it on family trips! It is very compact to store because of the folding feature and it was a great purchase that I will continue using. Photos show before and after the trip.

Works exactly as intended, quality item. Used for a 8+ hour trip and when we experienced rain during the trip, it kept everything dry. As someone who is very apprehensive about things with negative reviews, this worked great for us.

So the tray is sturdy and well built. I took it 300 miles on a 22 Toyota Sienna packed full of mostly beach stuff. 350lbs max tongue weight on my 1 1/4 trailer hitch, so kept lighter baggage in it. I had to buy a hitch transition, but it’s great because it pushed the tray back far enough that I can open my rear door with the bag full. I did make a pvc frame for the bag (I should have measured to the tray frame and not the bag dimensions because the bag is a bit larger, but easy fix). The pvc frame has 1 support on top and bottom and two supports on side. i used 1/2 inch schedule 40. Don’t saw pvc, use a cutter. so much easier. 8 corner pvc pieces and 12 tees later, I had a solid frame for the bag. I didnt glue it, just popped everything in and the strapping holds it together. I tried to use just the bag straps at first but then i realized i should use ratchet straps. they fit onto the bar on the tray well so I went onto tray, under the tray to the back and over diagonally and back onto the tray so may ratchet straps were front facing and would catch no wind from the drive. nothing budged, nothing got wet, it was super hot inside but no combustibles, perishables, or pressurized anything. hitch stabilizer worked well. had to but another one for the hitch transition. I also brought my wrench on trip to tighten bolts, which I had to do twice (when we arrived and before we left). 7/10 I would buy again. I do wish the picture reflected that the storage bag was both frameless and larger than the tray itself. Only a 7 because of all the rust after 1 use. I should be able to knock back, but the rust is a big disappointment
