It allows you to connect your shift pod to your brake clamp and makes one less clamp on the bar. The end result is that your shifters are now conveniently closer to your fingers on the grip, a cleaner handlebar, and you use less reach to shift.I like the cost and the quality.Pro tip: connect the bolt from this item to your shifter before you slide it under your brake lever clamp. Otherwise the bolt head is tough to get a hex wrench on and you would need a ballend hex to tighten. Attach it beforehand and you’ll be set. ### ⭐ Integral Design Flaw *by H***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2021* Overall a great product that solves a problem of matching my M8120 shimano XT brake to an X1 sram shifter.However, it is missing the flange that keeps the shifter mounted to the i-spec ii. I thought a bit of extra torque on the brake lever mounting bolt would hold everything in place.I learned the hard way that this doesn't solve the problem. My shifter wiggled out in the middle of a race, dropping the shifter into the wheel, causing a headache to sort out.I had high hopes, but I may have to look elsewhere for a replacement as I don't think there are any workarounds. ### ⭐ Garbage *by T***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2021* Complete garbage.
