I was not sure about the material connecting the bottom of the legs at first but have come to believe it is an asset in terms of stability. The seat material also seems durable and should hold up to long term use. One thing I failed to realize about the stool is the legs are two piece. Initially this was a concern to me but since have come to like since it allows the stool to more compact when not in use, while a bit taller and more comfortable when sitting. If you want a portable and packable stool for camping and hiking, I believe you will happy with this one.
