## Description

Computer vision syndrome [cvs] is an increasing problem, with nearly 70% of U.S. Adults experiencing digital eye strain. Uvex SKYPER blue light blocking computer glasses deliver short and long term protection for your eyes. The orange lens features spectrum control technology (sct), which absorbs more than 98% of the blue light Emitted from your laptop, computer, iPad etc. The result is additional screen contrast with sharpened details. This improves your focus and reduces eye fatigue while viewing your screen--especially in a dark environment. More importantly, it means these computer glasses can also help inhibit vision problems like cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. Uvex SKYPER blue light glasses also offer exceptional comfort for optimal screen viewing. Features include a two-position ratcheting lens inclination system, adjustable-length DUOFLEX comfort cushioned temples, a molded-in nose Bridge and wrap-around uni-lens.

Review: If you play outdoor pickleball, these are for you - I need polycarbonate, blue-light blocking, UV-blocking glasses to play pickleball outdoors. (This sport is really big in Georgia, but throughout the southeast, really). I bought the 3-pack of these glasses to try. Voila! They are perfect for my sport. (And likely they'd work for other outdoor sports as well). Well, how have I concluded this? First, the optics are certainly good enough for me to track a pickleball, even for an old (>70) banger like me. Second, they cover pretty much the entire orbit - you know, the part of your skull with your eyeball, so that no dust gets in; in Georgia, we have that red clay dust you haven't seen since the old Flash Gordon messed around on the Planet Mongol. But, for an important third consideration, there is sufficient ventilation so that they do not fog up (although I have to say that I've started to wear that John McEnroe style headband which absorbs and wicks a whole lot of perspiration; I think it makes me look cool(er), but nobody in our group compliments me on the new look although they envy my sweatless face). Fourth, the ear pieces are adjustable; this is important since each of us has a unique skull conformation. And, fifth, you bloody well cannot believe how the world looks when you filter out the blue until you wear these: the lines on the court are vivid so calling shots is much easier; the net and the players stand out in contrast to the trees and grass of the surrounding scenery; even hitting an overhead against a lob your opponent shot into the sun - yes, your friends will do that to you, and then apologize - is certainly no worse, and I think a lot better, than getting a decent sighting with fancy sunglasses (I've been wearing LL Bean fly-fishing sunglasses). It also seems to me that it takes virtually no time at all to accommodate your eyes to the no-blue daylight since my eyes are not shaded, but rather filtered. If you are an outdoor pickleball player, these are for you. A bunch in my group are already cruising around desertcart looking for these, and shortly I will lose my advantage over them. Until then, however, I am feared. Seriously, folks, you need to remember that as you age, you will suffer from visual glaring and you will have trouble interpreting color changes even against a constantly changing outdoor scene. You may have problems visually tracking objects. Your cornea ages as you do, and of course so do the ocular muscles. So if you play a game like pickleball, where visual tracking is crucial, give yourself every legal advantage you can. (So, no, you can't hire Kyle Yates to play for you; that's illegal, and he charges too much). Try these glasses. What the heck. You've already spent enough on paddles, right?
Review: No more trouble falling asleep at night. These really work for that purpose. - I bought these only to wear in the house from 8:30pm to 10pm and help me fall asleep at night. They are designed to block blue light waves. I have serious "busy brain" before going to bed and these help my brain calm down, shut down and I actually get sleepy wearing them. I can watch TV, work on the ipad, and get ready for the morning routine with these on and the regular white lights on without impairing my ability to fall asleep when my head hits the pillow. I also have lots of other items, like red light bulb night lights, a sunrise alarm, twilight on my computer and phone... These just add to it. I would never wear these driving as they are not safe for that purpose. There is a different set of yellow lenses for driving made for just that purpose. What might bother users is the fact that they eliminate the blue light. What that means is everything you look at that has blue in it will be green now. Yes your TV and computer will look funny at first. It was a small price to pay for getting to sleep in 15 minutes each night. Small price for the glasses too. I bought the three pack so I would always have a pair within reach when it was time to put them on. I paid full price for these. They are a little uncomfortable on my nose and I will put some nose pads on them. Other than that, no more insomnia. EDIT: Nov 2, 2016 - Been wearing these almost every night at 9pm until bed time. I am amazed at how I can actually fall asleep without busi-brain.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What EXACTLY is the purpose of these glasses? A lot of reviewers said NOT to use them for night driving or driving in general, so what then?**
A: You CAN use these for night driving but I would NOT ADVISE it. There have been a few times I wore these while friving at night and nearly hit somebody who was crossing the street which wasn't really well lit. I know I WOULD have seen these people if I had NOT been wearing these glasses. So, yeah, while they do help with headlight glare from other vehicles, I no longer wear them while driving at night. They are great for computer eyestrain though.

**Q: are they true blue blocker**
A: YES. It is the LENS that does the blocking (not the seller's description). Both the S0360X and S1933X both have the EXACT same lens: SCT-Orange. So yes, they both block blue light. Also, Consumer reports specifically tested them and said they blocked the MOST blue light.

"We tested three pairs of glasses in our labs for their ability to block blue light, measuring light intensity at all wavelengths to find out how much each lens absorbed. Of the three, only one—the Uvex Skyper safety eyewear (orange tinted), $8—cut out almost all blue light. The Gunnar Intercept gaming glasses (medium yellow), $53, cut blue light by about half, and the Spektrum Pro Blue Light Blocking Glasses (light yellow), $40, cut it by only about a third." Consumer Reports

**Q: Has anyone tried both this and and the other model they're selling on here, the S1933X? If so, could you please list any big differences? Quality, color/tint, fit (does one run bigger than the other), etc..... Thanks.**
A: I have tried both. I find the S0360X more comfortable. It is larger and offers protection on the sides as well as front. The smaller S1933X did not fit well over my glasses. Contrary to what others have posted, both offer the SAME amount of blue blocking protection as both have the same lens: SCT-Orange.

**Q: Do these block blue light from TV?**
A: Consumer Reports did a review of three different brands/styles of glasses claiming to block blue light, which included these Uvex Skypers. Of the three pairs of glasses tested, the Skypers were the most effective at blocking blue light . . . and are the most affordable. :-)Go here to see the full review:http://www.consumerreports.org/eyeglass-stores/3-blue-blockers-put-to-the-test/

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Edit: Promt fixing for the issue where I Bought a 3 pair pack and I only came with 1 pair
*by N***N on December 2, 2022*

Edit (original review below): From the time I submitted the issue, the package was resent in 2 business days during the holiday season with the appropriate amount this time. I tried out the glasses to make sure they were a good product for my family... and they're comfortable while hugging your face to completely block blue light, they tint the entire world orange 😅 (dunno if that's an issue for others but it's not troublesome for me and I'm a video editor in my spare time) because of their high percentage of nm blocked, and they seem like they probably wouldn't fit too well on children even though they are adjustable frames (the glasses seem like they would be too big to fit snug like they do on an adult. I figured I'd adjuat my review to give credit where it's due instead of leaving it a 1* when they addressed and fixed the issue immediately This was meant to be stocking staffers off the cyber Monday sale and now I have to wait for them to replace them. The package even says 3 pairs on the box but the box isn't even big enough to fit a second pair in it, let alone 3. I double checked to make sure. It's one pair. I requested a replacement but I don't know if they'll come in time now.
