This really is a great unit to copy drives with. Just crummy caddys are shipped with it. *by R***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2015* I bought this item to copy both IDE and Sata drives. As delivered it could copy IDE to Sata or Sata to Sata but not IDE to IDE. The drive caddys it came with broke and did not work with in days of delivery. I was able to get some adapters that would turn both of the internal Sata connections into an IDE connection with the IDE and power cable coming out of the box for connection to the unit. Now I'm able to copy IDE to IDE or Sata to Sata or Sata to IDE and even Sata to IDE. This duplicator is really great once you get past the horrible caddys that arrive with it. Throw them out and get two Sata to IDE converter and use that instead. The copies are usually perfect clones. The drive you copy too must be at least as large as the original.
