To make this more manageable I found ramping the voltage up to 12VDC from 9VDC keeps the current below 3 amps at all times but does increase the time to get to full temperature (<40 seconds) . You can do your own voltage profile to see what fits your application best. **Q: How many amps does does one unit draw?** A: 0.9A-4.5A-2.0A is the current swing. **Q: If I power these a limited current 12v power supply (lets say 500milliamps) will that limit the temperature or will it simply not function?** A: These should just limit the temperature available with lower amperage. These type of devices should be able to vary the temperature based on the current provided.
