The ORC US Army Issue Universal Improved Combat Shelter Tent is a lightweight, free-standing, one-person tent made from flame-resistant ripstop nylon with aluminum poles. Designed for three-season use, it features a blackout interior for complete light concealment, a waterproof tub floor measuring 96" by 40.5", and a vestibule area for extra storage. ## Description

Proudly made in the U.S.A. by the current military contractor, Improved Combat Shelters (ICS) in ACU Digital Pattern. The Improved Combat Shelter is a one person free standing tent for use in combat situations. It is blackout capable meaning once erected, a person using a light source inside the tent cannot be see at all from the outside of the tent. Designed for spring, summer, and fall use, the ICS is a true three season tent. Unlike the shelter half tents of yesterday, the ICS has an integral waterproof tub floor measuring 96 inches long by 40.5 inches wide. (27 sq. ft.). With an internal height at the center 32.5" and a vestibule area of 8.5 sq. ft. making it possible to sit up in the tent. Lightweight, easily carried and yet fully waterproof this is the "real deal" not some cheap knockoff that doesn't meet strict D.O.D. standards. Each ICS includes: 1-Tent Main Body, 1-Tent Vestibule / Rain Cover, 3-Aluminum Tent Poles (2 for main body forming an X shape, 1 for vestibule) 4 -Tent Stakes, Guy Lines, 1-Tube of Seam Sealer, 1-Sheet of Instructions, 1-Carry Bag for Stakes, Seam Sealer, Instructions, Guy Lines 1-Carry Bag for Entire Shelter Kit

Review: Clean the inside thoroughly. Inside of these issued "like new" tents stink - Setup is pretty simple. Nearly pitch black inside the tent even in the daytime. Able to fit a twin size inflatable mattress inside with a little room left to put a small backpack at one of the ends. No leaks yet. The only bad thing about any surplus tent is they all have a really weird nasty smell that won't go away. I'm not sure if it's something they spray them with or if it's just from being previously issued but every one of the surplus tents I've owned or been in has smelled the same. The best way to describe the smell is sweaty feet with the faint lingering odor of unwashed ass. Opened the tent doors and put it downwind of the campfire and burned a bunch of oak and hickory meant for a smoker just to get the smell out since nothing else helped. After I let the smoke blow through it all day it finally got rid of the nasty smell.

**Q: Is it 96” long or 6’ (72”)? I’m 6’4” (76”).**
A: im 6'3 and it works-it isn't a palace and tight, but doable. hope this helps

**Q: How much does the tent weigh? Product description says 6.5 but package shipped weight says 6.2 so how much does just the tent weigh?**
A: Carrying weight is listed at 6.5lbs.  Shipping weight with box should be slightly higher.

**Q: What is the temperature rating on this? I live up North and the temperature drops below 20 degrees at night.**
A: I couldn't find rating information, there is no insulation in the tent but it waterproofing is excellent. For sub-freezing temps I have used this with a decent sleeping bag with great results.

**Q: Can you order replacememt stakes if you lose some**
A: Yes, you can...ORC lists the part #.  Or, you can just use other stakes that may be less expensive to buy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ MIne wasn't "like new", dirty, but otherwise good

Dirty, dirt inside, taped seams "starting" to come loose in a couple places, smells like Army Surplus store for sure, some of waterproofing layer inside rain cover sticking together, but intact. Even all that said, this is a really well-made superior mil-spec tent. Aluminum poles and stakes are very lightweight. The material tough and is well weatherproofed, and the rain cover will block light. No holes in the insect netting. All parts were included. It's a bit heavy at 6.5lbs, but that's the tougher material used. If they had cleaned it, and patched up a couple seams, and dried it out completely before packing it up...if it were a bit more "like new", as advertised, I might have kept it--I'm sure there are some that are more "like new" than others they send out. It's probably a dice roll. In the condition I got mine, for the price, it's still a good deal, for sure.
