The ports don't support a normal electrical wire gauge.** A: The units each have the maximum current capacity printed on them. It says :"MAX 16A" that means the maximum current is 16 amps. I have no trouble inserting #14 gauge wire in the slots. Larger size wire can carry more current than 16 Amps, so I assume it is a design feature to prevent people from wiring larger loads into the unit. **Q: Can i use this device to trigger an output based on an input? for example, if i receive 24v through a switch, i would want it to trigger an output.** A: Yes **Q: How many watts does this use on idle? (Please be more precise than <1W)** A: so little that I have never bothered to measure. Absolutely amazing devices for the money. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great bit of kit! *by M***K on 20 October 2024* Used this to control my vivarium light, mainly through alexa but also with my phone. I did a bit of research because I wasn’t sure if you needed to wire a manual switch for it to work (you don’t). Wiring is fairly straight forward without including a switch. Had a few problems pairing it to the app but that could well have been user error. Once I’d got it connected, added the alexa skill, paired my Shelly account and it works flawlessly. Can’t comment on reliability yet but it appears to be good quality.
