It really depends on the range setup and how close they are. We have moved 3-4 feet away from the unit and found it no longer picks up the shot. This is a good safe buffer to keep the other shooters from throwing a wrench in your data. Hope this helps! **Q: Does this device sync to a phone or iPad?** A: Currently they do not sync, but this option is in development now. Steinert plans to release this new model later this year and the price should not be impacted by the update. Reach out to us through our Amazon seller page if you would like an update when the new model starts shipping. **Q: When is the new version coming out? The one you can connect to iphones and things like that?** A: They are expecting to release the unit by the first of the year, but no date has been given. **Q: What is the extent of the marks and scratches? Are there possible pics** A: Very minor cosmetic black marks, most have a few small black marks on the back of the unit. Very few have any marks on the top of the unit. We have reduced the price due to the cosmetic inperfections and added a custom case. All units were tested when they arrived to ensure no functional issues. There is a brief YouTube video titled "Superchrono by Go Products West" showing three of he nine units with imperfections.
