I am so glad I chose to ignore them! The smell is not overpowering, it's castile soap smell. No heavy perfumes like commercial products that cover up everything they put in it them.This is a good pure product. I did order some essential oils so everyone in the family can have their own bottle and "smell" their own way. However we've been using castile soaps since my 28 year old daughter was a baby. She has eczema and anything else irritates her skin. For her perfume free and irritant free is a must! If its good for her sensitive skin its the only thing I will use for the rest of my family. The most famous of the castile soaps is soooo expensive but we've had this brand for over a week and no ill side effects and the price is great!.
