Review: Fixed my AC - Going to go do my do-diligence as a consumer and write this review for those who are also having absurdly weird car problems that aren't easily diagnosable . Turning on my car, the radiator/AC fan on my 2013 Mazda 3i would slightly twitch, then stop moving immediately after. AC would just blow, and not blow cold until I was at city->highway speeds, where proper airflow was going through the rad. Saw some people mention stuff about temps being weird.. my car doesn't have a temp gauge, so I haven't been able to see if that would effect my car at idle, but most probably it did. OBD2 reader on my car gave P0480 code, which led me to the fan control module. Before buying this part, my brother and I quickly wired the fan directly to the battery, and it span just fine, quickly leading us to the fan control unit... Buying this fan control unit, and quickly swapping it out with my old one yielded successful, and my cars AC now works, and the fan properly spins. This was cheap and not first party, so the durability of this part is questionable still, but for right now... my car has functional AC that blows cold, so I'm happy. Written 10/6/24. There is not a separate relay for the fan. The relays are built in this fan-mounted module powered by the PCM. After realizing this in the wiring diagram, I decided to perform a tap test. I got the engine warm, the high speed fan turned on, and I turned off the ignition. As the fan ran, I grabbed a wrench to tap the module. One tap, the fan turned off.
