There are a lot of pedals out there, but this one just beckons to be played over and over. In a live setting, I find myself only using this pedal for everything, and its making my other overdrives and distortions jealous. Has a sweet sound and a nice blend of your clean signal in the sound to deliver a nice articulate overdrive, and a even clearer distortion when pushed. Update 8/10/14: Still using this as my main drive every week. Many other drive pedals have come and gone but this pedal continues to performe and pop so well in a live mix. I find that it takes overdrive and boost pedals really well in front of it. I like to use the EHX LPB-1 to push the pedal more when I'm really going over the top playing. Pumping the volume with the gain on 0 works as an amazing clean boost, and engaging the boost circuit pushes you into driven territory on a clean amp. The drive is transparent and clear, giving grit while also maintaining your pick attack clarity. It's a standard overdrive+boost circuit, not doing anything special, but doing its simple job well. A great option, but it exists in an already saturated market. For a few dollars more you can easily upgrade to something a bit more high end. Got it on sale at my local guitar shop. Would give it five stars if the boost was independent of the drive but the drive has to be on to use the boost. I like the pedal but it's not as good as my rockett archer (klon klone). But for a guitar player on a budget it's hard to beat. Sound quality is good. You can hear your clean signal coming through with the drive. Well built sturdy stomp box.
