I am using this on a 40 breeder (really a 50 gallon) tank and I feel like depending on your humidity needs it would work for a 4x2x2 or slightly bigger. They need the humidity for shed time and hydration. Get a humidity meter to track the % and keep it between 50- 60% humid. **Q: If there is a loss of power will settings be retained and will it start cycling immediately when power returns?** A: It does retain its settings I unplugged my unit trying to get it to forget the settings to no avail so I would say a power outage is equal to unplugging the unit for 24 hours. **Q: My blue tongue sink needs the humidity to at least 40% so how long should I put it on for?** A: That would depend on the relative humidity of the room it is in, the temperature, the size of the enclosure, and the amount of ventilation of the enclosure. The setup was easy and I still have extra tubing and zip ties incase I ever need to redo it. The mister also takes up minimal space and I can just put it behind my frog's tank so it is not very visible. I can simply fill up a jug with clean water and set the timer to go off every 12 hours for 5 seconds. I like that I can change the times and duration or even manually mist the tank with the device depending on the tank's and my frog's conditions. I have not had any issues with leaking or breaking in the 6 moths that I have had it. The only issue is the noise when it mists although it is less a me problem and more my dog's problem. He just seems to get scared by it when it goes off as it makes a sort of mechanical noise as water is being pumped, but I do not think it is very loud.
