Side B, all but the first song sound hollow and overly washed with static. Side C for some reason skips over a second or two of the first song's (Fatally Yours) intro and it throws you off a bit.Finding an original print is getting upwards of $150, so if you're die hard for getting this on vinyl it's not TERRIBLE. However, if you want the overall sound quality, go with the CD and hopefully you have a good player. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm not a morning person but... *by E***L on Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2007* So I need to start off by admitting that I'm not a long-time fan of the band. In fact the thing I remember about them is that I really wanted them to get off the stage so NoFX could start playing, but that was before I picked up "Crimson." Like many other "successful" bands of similar punk/popunk styles, Alkaline Trio has changed their style a bit over the past decade or so. That has seemingly (from the other reviews posted) caused a lot of disappointment to their long-time fans. I enjoy this album quite a bit. It's catchy, dark and interesting for the most part. The opener starts us off with a blissful, evil, hook-filled delight that pretty much continues throughout the album. I didn't like the 'hit' song from this album, #2. After listening to some of their old stuff I can't understand why the long-time fans are receiving this one so poorly. Sure the production is much better but I never had a problem with music that sounds good. Maybe the average bpm is down by like 5% or something. Whatever. If you like "Crimson" I bet you will like this almost as much. If you're a whiny long-time fan who thinks they've sold out or stopped trying...well I guess that sucks for you. I guess the latest Strung Out and A.F.I. records aren't my favorites, but then again you can only have one favorite. To you I would recommend being more open-minded. I'm just sick of people not liking a band for doing something different. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Goth Punk to Alt Rock Transitional Treasure. *by N***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2015* Good Mourning is a great album, and as all albums should.. it starts with a strong track. Possibly my favorite ever "This Could be Love" , . Once you get past that preliminary qualifier for a good album theres a balance of authentic sound and not being repetitious in the formula. Its going to keep your attention to track 5 in all cases. Song 6: Emma is a great song, velvety vox but also tamed down and less edgy I suggest you eval remainder of album from this point , it takes a lower tempo for the rest of the album at this point Where it lags for me. Andriano ( Bass) is again lead vox on Every Thug Needs a Lady. He and Skiba ( Leadvox, Guitar) deliver excellent vocal work throughout. Not much for solos but that wasn't A3's way of things. Eventually theres a point where some lyrics you'll like;goth/ horror folklore theme cliche's are either hit or miss depending on the listener's preferences. To the Albums credit , this is the THIRD TIME I'm buying it, this time on download because the CDs have had serious mileage. I give it a 4.7-4.9 of five. "We've Had Enough", " Continental" and " All in Black" will quickly be favs. It does vary from their previous infirmary album to an acceptable degree of production quality without being to radio washed. Crimson and forward takes that plunge; not always a bad thing.. So you know. This is a3s last 'punk' album for the era and some would argue its already alt/goth rock .
