The premium fretboard guards are made using a high precision process that produces a very smooth finish on our high quality stainless steel material, which is nonmagnetic, corrosion resistant and heat resistant. The special engineered curved angle contours to all fretboards. The innovative ergonomic handle makes any fret job easier, quicker, and keeps your fingers from getting in the way. The set of 3 GRIP Guards works on all string instruments and includes 1 each for small, medium and jumbo fret slot sizes. Review: Speeds up fret polishing process. - The thing I hated the most about having to polish my guitars frets was the prep work. Pretty much just taping around the frets to avoid rubbing compound into the fretboard. It would turn a 5 minute job into a 15 minute job. Plus not to mention the wasted tape on each guitar. These guards make the process so much easier and faster. They come in three different fret thicknesses, but both my guitars only use the middle size. Its still nice to have the extra ones though. Some people said they are really flimsy, which they kinda are, but when you polish, youre ot supposed to apply much pressure. Its all about repetition, so they do the job as long as you dont push down too hard. Overall, I think these are a must have tool for any guitarist, especially if you have multiple guitars and do your own maintenance.

**Q: Where are these made?**
A: Absolutely no idea. It does protect your fretboard while you’re using a Dremel to clean and buff frets.

**Q: Could this work on 8 strings guitar ?**
A: Yes, the slots are long enough to work with the frets on the widest of necks.

**Q: Will these work on a non radiused 52mm classical fret board**
A: I believe that one of them will work for a 52mm fret wire. I cannot accurately measure the real gap on the largest one but I believe it will work. You may need to augment the tool with some tape or paper to make sure not to scuff the fretboard. 'Blue Painter's Tape' would most likely work to protect your fretboard. I would be interested to know if you get them and the outcome. 

I have a cheap Peavey Electric and they worked fine for it. I did not use them on my acoustics but they are good guitars and have not needed any fret polishing. Ciao!

**Q: What country are these made in?**
A: Same country that makes tubes for your guitar amplifier if that helps. Russia also makes 6l6's El34's 12AX7's. (China) << U.S. does not make tubes at all!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A classic & essential tool, but…

One of the most indispensable tools you’ll need if you do any of your own setups, maintainable, or repairs, are fret guards. Several different kinds out there, and these have what most others don’t, which is a handle to hold them in place. They work VERY well. A word of warning though. These fit very precisely over the fret wire that most modern guitars will have. Among the three included widths/sizes. They’re a little too long however than most all fretboards will be. Meaning when you lay a guard over a fret, with the neck laying on your bench running from your left to right, and the frets vertical on front of you… there is some of the guard’s slots that aren’t filled with the fret. Why is this important? And why is it important to be THIS specific? With the guard fitted over the fret, if you were to take a fret rubber or 0000 steel wool to polish your frets, you’ll be rubbing across the fret & up and down in your field of view. Unless you hold the fret guard down with STRONG pressure… the edges of the thin metal the guard is made out of, can dig or cut into your fretboard. Leaving you a nasty surprise when you lift the fret guard away. It’s a good idea to tape the guard down in place so that it can’t slide up and down along the frets, to insure that doesn’t muck up your fretboard. If it happens it IS fixable, but it will take some serious work and skill.
