The Hazy Ambassador heads are medium-weight heads Made with a single-ply 3-mil Mylar film to produce an open, bright, and resonant sound with plenty of attack. Hazy Ambassador heads accentuate snare drum response and give a classic look to snare drums.

I've seen some reviews say their snare sounded better with this head....To me? ....This head allows marching snares to be loud and not echo as much....the sound is crisp and not hollow....It will give you the "cha-cha-cha" sound....be sure to tune your drum to a D and make sure your snare wires are touching the bottom head and you will get the sound you're looking for. Most drummers don't know how to tune their snare drum.....go to youtube to learn how. This head is excellent on a marching snare- FFX Pearl. It lasts forever!!!! It's built great! It can take a licking and keep on ticking!! For the price- you can't beat the quality and durability of a Remo. They are worth every last penny you spend!!!!!

A: This head is designed for the snare (bottom) side. It cannot withstand being struck by sticks.Peace,

**Q: Does this have a prebuilt in colar, like a factory prestreatch to make it easier to fit on a drum**
A: Please forgive if I am not understanding your question correctly, but pretty much all drum heads (including Remo) have metal collars and yes, the drum head is shaped to where there is a "shoulder" that rests on the shell of your drum.  So your hoop applies the pressure to the metal collar and your shell pushes up from underneath on the premade shoulder.  As long as you get the dimension right, example: 14 inch head for 14 inch Tom, you are good.

**Q: Can I use it to get autographs on it from my favorite band breaking Benjamin**
A: If you want to use a drum head for autographs, a coated head would be a much better choice.

**Q: how do you measure to get the right size?**
A: Remove the drum head from the drum then use a tape measure to measure from 1 lug across to the opposite lug. Most drums are even numbered sizes except for the occasional odd size 13" or 15".

I like these drum heads for their durability in a marching band setting.....Kids can be rough on an instrument.
