Forge Open Alert TSA Approved Luggage Locks - 3 Digit Combination, Easy Read Dials, Zinc Alloy Body (Black 4 Locks)

I bought these for a vacation this summer. We had 4 bags with us, 2 would be checked through the airline, and 2 were carry-ons. I wanted to make sure we had locks for all of them for security and in case the airline made us put our carryon bags in the belly of the plane, then they would be locked! I set all four locks to the same combination to make it easy for us to access all bags. Leaving on our trip both our checked bags were accessed by the TSA. We had notices left in our luggage from TSA and the TSA open indicators were tripped, so we knew when we got our luggage at the airport, and before we even opened our bags, that they had been searched. I really like that the TSA has to re-lock it to remove their key, so that my lock is back on my suitcase and not lost. The combination was super easy to set following their clear instructions. For any lock where a combination can be set you have to be very careful when the lock is open that you don't accidentally change the combination. For this one, they have an added step that you have to have the shackle 180-degrees from the locked position to change the combination AND you have to depress the shackle to turn it the full 180 degrees. Not fool-proof but better than most other adjustable combination locks I have used. I also took one of the locks with me during the day to lock my purse zipper against pickpocketing. While this may not work for many purses it worked for mine and as we already had the locks, I didn't have to purchase another one. As far as being pick-proof or a totally secure lock, TSA master key can be purchased by anyone online, and these locks are totally pickable by someone with small lock-picking skills. However, for their intended purpose, these work very well. I very much recommend these locks! I hope you find this review helpful, if so please give it a yes so I know!

Perfect! I use these TSA locks when going away. They fit perfectly on all my luggage. I can easily set the TSA locks with my personal code. I do not have to worry about anyone other than the TSA agents to unlock my luggage.

Great locks.....work as advertised. Only caveat is the locking loop is a little tight for cases that are thicker in the locking place. Works well with my luggage

The locks are very sturdy, you can tell they’re made of good quality by the weight of them. They do not feel like a cheap plastic. They performed exactly like they should, and I was able to set my own code for each lock. I had no issues with them fitting onto any of my luggage’s. However I did have an issue with TSA cutting and throwing away 2 of them on a trip to Italy. So if having a lock on your luggage is important for you when traveling via airport, it might be wise to carry an extra lock inside your luggage in case it gets cut and thrown away

All hail the seller Forge for great customer service, especially to Sophia! When these locks arrived, I went to the Forge web site and followed the video to set the combinations, and found that one of the four was defective. While on the Forge web site, I registered with my Amazon order number, and used the contact form to request a replacement lock. Sophia sent one out, and the package was apparently stolen from my front porch after delivery! I notified Sophia I had not received it, and she sent out another one right away! I just received the second replacement and set the combination, and now have four functioning locks. Now that's customer service! Thank you, Sophia! Thank you, Forge! I am about to go on a month-long trip with many flights, and will report back on how well these locks perform. I will take the precaution, as other reviewers have recommended, to use a small piece of duct tape to secure the hasp to my suitcase so that if the TSA opens the lock and fails to lock it again it may not get lost. I will report back here on lock performance when I get back. At this time, the locks are locking and unlocking readily, and when locked do not want to pull apart easily. ******************* Edited 20170921 I just got back from my month-long trip, and these locks performed flawlessly on countless uses. Traveling in third world countries, I keep my suitcases locked whenever I am not in the room. So I open and close these locks multiple times per day while on the road. Moreover, I flew many domestic flights in Indonesia as well as multiple international flights, and the locks held up. I used two suitcases and also carried the extra two locks in case the locks on the suitcases got lost or failed, neither of which happened. I actually never saw evidence that my suitcases were inspected, but that may be because I qualified for TSA Pre-Check on this trip. I am very pleased with how these locks performed on this rigorous trip, and highly recommend them.

We bought 8 of the Black Forge TSA 3-number combination locks so we have them on all our bags. They are slightly larger and heavier than alternatives, but they are definitely better build quality than the competition. The numbers rotate easily but don't slip, and they are very easy to see unlike cheaper locks. We've been using them for 8 months with no problems. We always put one on the inside of our bags, so if security does damage one, we have another at our destination. These are quality locks.

Padlocks appear to be substantial. Recoding is easy but not so easy that accidental rest is probable
