## Questions & Answers

**Q: My airbrush won’t stop flowing (its double action) I’m guessing it’s the trigger, will this help free it up?**
A: The lube is a good regular maintenance tool. But, it could be a number of things. A thorough cleaning with brushes and strong cleaner (especially the trigger assembly), a new nozzle, and needle could also cure your problem. It is a common issue, and persistence on your part will get your gun working properly again. You probably already know that it doesn't take much paint residue to affect the performance of your airbrush. I'm actually having to do that with one of mine right now.

**Q: Can this be used with a makeup airbrush?**
A: I'll back Ramsey and Erika up on this one. The short answer is yes. If you want to know why: A makeup airbrush is still an airbrush, and the physics and working parts are basically all the same. The only major difference is the medium that you put through them for your specific application. Basically, the lube is for parts that move or rub together. So if you're using a single action airbrush, the only moving part is the trigger assembly. The needle is usually adjustable, but there is nothing rubbing against it on the single action. So no lube comes in contact with the medium. On a dual action, the trigger slides down AND back/forth, pulling/pushing the needle through the bore (another friction point). So on a dual action, lube anything that moves with the trigger mechanism AND the needle. All you need is a drop or two on each. Then using a tissue or soft cloth, lightly wipe the needle along its length just enough to leave a thin film of lube on it. Put it all back together and actuate them a few times to work in the lube. The lube does come in contact with the medium because the medium flows along the part of the needle from the paint pickup point to the nozzle. But It shouldn't affect the medium unless you really glob the lube on, but even then it won't hurt anything or anyone for that matter (unless your aim is off :)) Like with anything else, if you're worried, just experiment with it. If you notice something in the results that doesn't look right, just disassemble and wipe the lube off the needle. I didn't mention anything about threaded portions of the brush. The choice is yours to lube these areas. Have fun!

**Q: How does this lube fare on airbrushes that go unused for an extended period of time?**
A: I don't like this lube at all. It dries up and gets gummy in a fairly short period of time. Wish I knew of a good brand to recommend, but any spray lube will likely be a better gamble than this. (I do like iwata guns though)
