WE also ordered the bronze screws that are also available to make the bed. Finished bed looks very good and the bronze screws look very nice. Used knotty pine rubbed with boiled linseed oil before construction. Grandkids love the bed. The simplicity allows for standard off-the-shelf sized lumber with minimal milling (provided care is taken to sellect quality kiln dried lumber.) I own most hand tools but don't own a table saw. If I decide to make trundle drawers I will allow 3 inches of clearance for the movement of casters. The $15 price for the plans is reasonable but the hardware they offer is naturally additional. Before I begin to size my lumber I will confirm the exact dimensions of the matresses I'll use so that I can have a correct loose fit.
