Do you have to charge the battery before use?

When I connected my charger before installing it showed 70% charged. Most probably it would start your bike if you do not have a charger.

In what country is this battery made?

Our molds and AGM plates are made in China, the batteries are filled, sealed and activated here at our warehouse located in Westfield, Indiana.

How would this work with a couple low watt 12vdc led lights as homemade portable lights for setting up camper at night, j.r.

Given the led lanterns that are available, I'm thinking that's a lot of trouble, unless you are planning on running the camper lights with it. I don't see why it wouldn't work for some period of time. Ideally accessory lights are run with a deep cycle battery, because if you take a regular battery to a state of discharge very many times, it will cease taking a charge. Deep cycle batteries are designed to do that.
