Review: It required about 15 minutes of fine tuning to settle out but after that I never ... - I purchased the Still Spirits Water Flow Regulator after I bought the Turbo 500. When I was doing my initial research I felt I didn't need a water flow regulator because we are on well water. I was wrong. Just the small fluctuation from the accumulator would change the discharge temp by 20C. This required me to hover over the unit and constantly chase the water flow to maintain an optimal temp. After doing this three times I bought the water regulator. I hooked it up and adjusted the water flow to 350ml per minute as a starting point. I started the boiler and watched as the discharge came up to 60C. It required about 15 minutes of fine tuning to settle out but after that I never touched it. Since your looking at an 8 to 10 hour run, being able to walk away is a big benefit. It's not a "set and forget" item. You still have to monitor the process but while it's running you're not married to it for the duration of the run. I strongly recommend the Still Spirits Water Regulator to anyone using the Turbo 500. It will save your sanity and allow you to produce a more consistent product.
Review: Expensive, but works great. - Like the title says, it's expensive for what it is- about $15 in parts that you can source and build yourself. But... it's already put together and I didn't have to chase down everything I needed to build something. Basically, I justified the expense as saving time. It worked well at stabilizing the water flow out of my sink though, so for that, it works great.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the wattage requirement of the pump?**
A: It's a small 12VDC aquarium type pump that uses a 12V / 3 Amp converter. I can't imagine it draws enough current to be of any concern. Unit works well.

**Q: Can you use this as a circulation pump in large container of cold water to the still? Or does it need the pressure from the tap?**
A: The tapwater hooks up to the container of circulation pump. Then it pumps from the container to the still. It keeps the water pressure consistent, so you don’t have to keep adjusting for water pressure.

**Q: Will this have enough volume to supply two units at once if you put a y in and they each have there our control valve**
A: its possible but it might not have enough pressure to supply both the proper flow rate consistently.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Helpful but not as good as I had hoped
*by L***E on June 10, 2018*

It's better than trying to control the flow coming directly from your tap but not as good as I had hoped. I wish the control valve could be more precise. The water pressure at my home is about 105 PSI and I couldn't get the various connections to stop dripping. Went to Loews and got a water pressure regulator that screws right only the garden hose or faucet. Typically they are used for connecting Drip Irrigation. No doubt it is intended to work with incoming pressure between 60-80 PSI so I expected it wouldn't be able to deliver 30 PSI to the SS Flow Regulator and I was right, it delivered 40 PSI. That was good enough to cure or at least significantly help the various drips so I'm happy. Until something better comes along I'd still recommend one of these to help provide the needed water flow.
