When I switch to Apple car play, it will not let you control the volume (same as using your phone volume). I have an iPhone 14 and pioneer aftermarket radio with Apple car play) but you may experience something different. **Q: Can’t control volume with click when phone is connected to stereo. Is there a setting I don’t know about?** A: I think phone has to support Bluetooth low energy before it will control it when connected to another device. No settings on click that I know of but mine works great. **Q: will this work with iphone 8** A: It worked fine with my old iPhone 7 Plus, and my new iPhone 12 Mini, so I have no doubt that it will work fine with an iPhone 8. I love it, go for it! **Q: Can this be Bluetooth to an aftermarket car stereo headunit and be able to control volume and change channel** A: Can’t say for certain if it’ll work with your head unit because there is no make/model name listed, but it should work with almost any Bluetooth audio device. Given that this device was designed with car audio in mind, the likelihood is very high that it will work with your head unit. Even if for some reason it didn’t connect to the head unit, it can still connect and control a phone or other Bluetooth capable device, if you’re using it as an audio source.
