Great wrist guards
These wrist guards by 187 killer pads work great and I feel safer wearing them when I’m skateboarding at my local skateparks.

These saved my wrists from any injury or pain in a serious inline skating fall
The fall impact catching mostly with my right arm while inline skating at high speed dislocated my shoulder and caused minor fracture to the humorous head, but zero injury or pain in wrists. These wrist guards did their job perfectly, no wrist injury or pain, no abrasion and wrist guards barely show any sign of damage after fall impact and scraping along the ground. I rarely give reviews but I feel compelled to praise how well these wrists guards protected me in circumstances I'm certain would have otherwise caused wrist fractures. Also prior to real test of a major crash, I already liked that these had a great fit and the materials felt both sturdy & comfortable to wear as designed. I highly recommend these wrist guards.

Get these ones.
These are very protective and seem to be made from high quality material. The velcro is very strong and they fit me a little big but I do have abnormally small and boney wrists so they’ll probably fit you fine. The supports are very stiff so you don’t have much mobility up and down in the wrist but that’s to be expected, they’re very functional for street skating. They can also teach you to roll with your fall for some reason but maybe that’s just me. They’re very easy to use, there isn’t much padding but they’re not uncomfortable either.

These are an absolute MUST HAVE. I am i electric scooter buff, and I have been riding high end dual motor scooters for about 18 months and unfortunately I have had 3 relatively serious falls and 1 other less serious fall...although anytime you fall off a scooter it can be serious. At any rate...your wrist will ALWAYS make impact with the pavement, so you absolutely NEED superior wrist protection, otherwise your wrist will never work again. Wrist fractures are awful- many people have told me they often times don't heal correctly because the bones in that area don't realign properly for whatever reason. These wrist guards have saved my wrist in all of my falls...I'm talking not even a scratch. These have to be the best wrist guards on the market. They cover the most area and they offer the best protection- the hard, bent piece of thick plastic that covers the palm area is the key...the plastic bends outward so if you fall (which I have) your hand never hits the ground. The bent plastic hits the ground and your hand/wrist is not affected. I literally hit a curb 2 weeks ago and my entire body weight landed on my right wrist, but it wasn’t injured at all because of this wrist guard. Anyone who is riding electric scooters must have this wrist guard. Seriously. It will save you thousands of dollars in medical bills, plus of course months and years of pain in your wrist.

Protect your money makers!
As an older dude, falling sucks a whole lot more than it used to. I work with my hands, I play music with my hands, as well as all the other stuff that people do with their hands. As Mitch Hedberg said, “these things are useful!” Anyway, I am also not going to stop doing fun stuff, like roller skating and skateboarding, and when you are doing those things, you are inevitably going to fall, and chances are good you’re going to try and catch yourself with your hands. These make that a whole lot less painful. They are comfortable enough, you get used to wearing them quickly. They will get sweaty of course, so if you take them off and set them down for a minute they will be cold and wet when you put them back on. That’s seriously the only disadvantage to wearing them. The plastic stiffener that makes it do what it does is exposed at the palm, which is nice because it slides a little when you hit the ground, in addition to keeping you from putting your hand down on a piece of gravel or whatever. I have had several pairs of wrist guards over the years, from several different manufacturers, and these are the best ones. I wear a large or xl glove, and the large version of these fits me fine, with a lot of extra strap I could use if I had bigger wrists. For real though: buy these, wear these when you skate, whatever you skate. Protect your hands and wrists. Those things are useful.

Saved My Wrist!
I am pretty sure I would have broken (or at least severely injured) myself without these guards - I can vouch for their efficacy. I don't skate much anymore, and formerly mostly used my longboard as a campus commuter back when I was in college. Recently I have been trying to get my husky to pull me on my old longboard, which is not going particularly well. She basically doesn't want to pull at all until there's an animal to chase and then she wants to kamikaze into it regardless of obstacles, traffic, her general safety, my general safety, etc. Usually I can control her, but there were wild turkeys in our neighborhood today, she goes to pull full speed, I figure I can let her because they are in a cul-de-sac, so whatever, but then a car was coming from out of the cul-de-sac, so I go to foot break, and as I am doing that she cuts perpendicular to me with all her force and just pulls me right off the board. 100% of that initial impact went into my left wrist and then I scraped up my arm a little bit too and hit my hip as I fully wiped out. So my arm hurts, my hip hurts, and I am quite sore, but my wrist feels fantastic. The guard's still in pretty good shape too.

Unbalanced people need these
I'm 68 and have tripped and fallen every two weeks lately, while I walk an hour at lunchtime. Clearly I'm not the spring chicken I used to be. My balance is shot. On the other hand, my wife claims that for our 42 years I've always been an unbalanced individual. Anyway... I'm thrilled with these! I'm reviewing the "Large" size of the "187 Killer Wrist Guards". They came in a package of two - one left, one right. (They will not fit people who have two of the same arm instead of one of each.) SO, I bought these. The piece of plastic which extends from my forearm over the ball of my hand is wonderfully thick and strong. I have little doubt that it will take my 140-pound frame hurtling to the ground with utter calmness (the *guard* will be calm, not my poor terrified toppling body). There are three really serious (e.g. they could restrain a Sherman tank) straps that wrap around this guard. Two wrap one way and the third goes the other way. They make it really easy to snug the guard up nicely against my skin. The manufacturing seems superb. Strong stitching. Very thick bullet-proof woven nylon cloth (well, small bullets). Excellent positioning of the hole for my thumb. Overall great tailoring to fit the curves and complexities of a human hand and arm. Naturally they arrived nearly instantly. Since that's how Amazon always behaves, I think we get used to it. It is pretty amazing, however. The packaging was excellent. Oh, btw, it was easy to open. That's important to me. I recommend these very highly. p.s. Maybe I'll add photos later. The wrist guards are at work right now and I'm not.
