The print on the package says so, unlike they package photo they present for the product. **Q: The Product Description listed plastic as one of the materials. How is it then composible?** A: This product is NOT plastic free. The scrubber portion is made of recycled plastic. I emailed the company and here is their reply: “ The walnut scrubber portion has a small amount of recycled plastic as a binder to hold the scrubbing material together. The white cellulose portion of the sponge can be separated and composted, the scrubber portion can be recycled with plastics.
