Big, Noisy, Ugly Fan - But it does a Good Job
I bought one of these as a like-for-like replacement of the existing one which was still working but was rattling and clattering due to worn-out bearings. The new one is nearly as noisy but it's now the clean roar of a powerful fan. Inside the old unit I found one of those "PASSED" stickers from the factory dated in 1996. So I reckon the old unit was probably installed when the house was built and has been running for about 28 years. These centrifugal fans are intended for the situation where the air has to pass through a length of ducting before it gets outside. In my case there's at least 10 feet of ducting in the loft which exits through a vent near the apex of the roof. Condensation is a big problem in winter when you have this arrangement because the warm, damp bathroom air condenses inside the ducting as it passes through the cold loft. Quite a bit of water than drips back down into the fan unit. But this is where the ugly design does well because the water just drips into the bottom of the air box and doesn't get into the works because the fan itself is offset to one side. In conclusion, for my situation, this fan is a good solution but I wouldn't recommend it for any other purpose 'cos it's big, noisy and ugly!

Does what it says on the tin
Exact model replacement. Previous one making horrid noise due to bearings gone - was over 10 years old so fair enough. Packaged well and arrived 2 days before advised delivery. Fitted within 15 mins. Not the quietest of fans but delighted no extra decor cost as slotted perfectly into place of old one.

Good Extract Fan.
This fan is an excellent option for longer duct runs when axial fans struggle to adequately perform.

Cheaper than the electrical wholesalers
I needed to replace this fan for a customer, and had to be this specific model due to the layout of the ceiling and lack of void space in it! This is around half the price of most electrical wholesalers, so was a no-brainer. Great performing fan, i would not choose this model as its ugly looking big and bulky, but if you have no room in the void above then you have no choice.

Easy swap for a slimline fan and shifts plenty of air.
Easy swap for a manrose slimline fan. Requires four new fixing holes as none of the original holes would align with the new ones. Electrics use same colour code and thus easy to hook up. One of the butterfly flaps was missing on arrival: superb after-sales service from Manrose (rang them direct) saw a full set in the post by return - really cannot complain. Fan seems no noisier than old one and adjusting the fan up to the full 30 minutes sees our shower room (3.5m x 3.0m) condensation free - noticeably more effective than the old fan.

A bit cumbersome to install, but effective once up there
I've got this extractor on the ceiling of a fairly large (5x4m) bathroom because I found that a regular "slim" axial fan was not extracting enough air. Happy to say this one is more effective. It clears my room in about two hours which sounds like a long time, but an axial fan was taking more like 6 hours to do the same job. It's louder than a slim fan but you'd expect that. It's totally bearable. Be aware that the maximum auto-off timer you can set this for is 30 minutes. If you need longer, like me, you'll have to wire it up to its own switch with its own power supply - in that case, the permanent live wire should be wired to any other permanent live connection (perhaps the "COM" common power in connection) and the switched live is the one which you should wire into your fan's new wall switch.
