Review: Makes Liquid Transfer Easy! - I ordered one of these and the item I received was broken on arrival. I received great customer service. It was not evident while it was in the package, but there was a quarter-sized star-shaped crack on the side of the main part of the siphon tube that made the first unit I received unusable. I contacted the seller and they worked quickly to remedy the issue. I returned the broken item via an desertcart kiosk at a retailer near me, and the new one was shipped to me. It was not very long before it arrived. I received it and the new unit was in perfect condition. I have used it several times since then. Works wonderfully. It is a bit difficult to get the 8 foot of tubing onto the siphon angled tube at the top (heated water is your friend), and you have to be careful when putting it on to fully support the angled tube so that it won't break. The plastic seems a bit brittle, but it is not flimsy. So long as you are careful and don't over-flex the angled tube, you should be fine. Also don't let the tubing drag as dead weight on that tube if you can help it to increase the longevity of the siphon. The packaging for shipping could be improved to better protect that top angled tube from impact. Both the units I received were put in a box that was too long for the item by almost a foot and a half, and the padding was just a couple of shreds of partially-wadded paper that were not positioned to cushion where the tube was. One good impact to that tube and the whole siphon is ruined. I was lucky that wasn't my issue on either unit I received.

**Q: This is for a 6 Gallon container isnt' it?**
A: it works on all of my 6 gallon,6.5 gallon, and my 1 gallon carboys.

**Q: How long is the glass tube?**
A: The tubes are actually plastic. The outer tube is 23 inches or 58.4 cm. The inner racking cane is 22 inches or 55.8 cm. Plenty of length for both my 5 gallon plastic bucket and my 5 gallon glass carboy.

**Q: How is this at filtering sediment, especially in regards to dry-hopping?**
A: The siphon bottom opening sits about 1 inch off the bottom of your carboy or bucket.  I've found this adequate even with dry hopping.  Just be very careful not to disturb your beer when or if moving it prior to the transfer.  As noted by the other answer, it does not filter.

**Q: Does this fit a 3/8 inch bottling wand?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the siphon set up will work with the 3/8 inch bottling wand.

Came quickly and as described. I thought I was missing the clip and bottling attachment but it doesn't come with that. Luckily I already had those from my last one. It works really well. Just don't leave it in the Star San for too long or any cleaning solution. My first one cracked after a while because I didn't realize that. Use it, clean it and dry it right after use.
