AllegroI am more of of an "original Baroque instrument/style enthusiast", but this performance amazed mein its utter clarity, lively phrasing, exquisite detailing, and velvety texture, somewhat akin to looking ata Rembrandt masterpiece.I am looking forward to a recording of Concerto for 2 Violins in D Minor BWV 1043 from these performers. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Remarks on Bach Concertos by Janine Jansen *by D***M on Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2014* The recording has three concerti, including BWV 1060 (with oboe), and two sonatas (3 & 4). This is Bach payed with sensibility and sensitivity to style without pretension to effete "period performance". Younger, enlightened players, have incorporated some of the nuances of "period performance" into their style when they perform 18th century works, which makes this recording another example of music in the hands of a performer who wants to make it sing. Her mastery of the instrument also makes this possible.The small ensemble has been chosen carefully (her father is the harpsichordist) to give it an intimate chamber music feeling, and as a result the recording has a sense of "wholeness" about it, although the harpsichord could have been "brought forward" in the mix, in my opinion. This is a most satisfying rendering of works that are sometimes "over-played".
