Review: It's not a good sight to see smoke and smell electrical burning coming from your cooker wall socket at any time, let alone during lock-down. After turning the cooker off as well as switching it off at the ring-main, I inspected the damage which was beyond repair, although luckily the cable itself had not suffered any damage. So I was confident that all I needed was a new wall socket but the trouble was that everywhere was shut. Luckily for me I found some Cooker Connection Units on desertcart and after reading a few reviews, I opted for this one as it had good reviews and seemed of better quality than the others, even though, if I remember correctly, it was slightly more expensive. But with something like cooker connection units, quality is of the upmost importance, rather than cost. What can I say? This unit was ridiculously easy to fit and screwed into the existing housing with no problems. It is of good quality and I haven't had any problems since. Seems I made the right choice.
