FDK OEM NiMH Replacement Battery Compatible with Some Selected Braun Oral-b Triumph Professional Care Toothbrush with Narrow Tabs, (42L x 17D mm, 2150 mAh)

Review: Take your time, and do not pull on the charging coil spool. - Works great. Install is not so easy, and I was a bit ham-fisted in removing the innards and broke both charge coil wires. Do not pull on charging coil spool.I was able to resolder them. Removing the old battery was easy with a temp controlled iron set at 500F. I heated the pad and lead and used the tip to lift the lead so it was no longer touching the pad. Then just pulled the old cell out. Getting the new cell in was a bit more tricky and I first tried to bend the tabs all fancy. after I gave up on that, I was able to poke the tabs through their respective holes before snapping the cell into the holder. This left me with longer tabs on the circuit side, so I just folder them over before soldering (again at 500F using lead-free solder). After repairing the charging wires (enamel coated magnet wire maybe 30ga) I let it charge fully before reassembling.
Review: Worked perfectly. - I have the Type 3738 toothbrush, I think it's called the Triumph. It seems the engineers at Oral B went out of their way to make it as difficult as possible to replace the spent batteries in their toothbrushes. You need a soldering iron to de-solder the old battery and solder in the new one. But this battery fits perfectly in the compartment with leads that are narrow enough to go through very small holes. after that, you need to trim the excess leads sticking out of the other side and complete the soldering. The toothbrush feels brand new again, Thanks!

### ⭐⭐⭐ Didn't last long --Updated 12/07/2021

First, I want to mention that I had to order this battery twice because the first one was obviously a battery that had been returned to the vendor. Unlike the original battery which lasted several years, this battery has lasted only about 5 months. It now doesn't have enough power to keep the brush head moving at the speed at which the brush was designed to work. After installation, this battery didn't seem to have the same power as the original battery when it was new and needed longer charge times. Installation instructions were included but can be a bit technical. Other reviewers have a very good suggestion about not unsoldering the leads from the board but rather snipping them off and soldering the new battery leads to the old ones. That is the way that I did it, and it proved to be easier than it would have been trying to remove the old leads and trimming and soldering the new leads. Two people use this toothbrush. Maybe if only one person were using it, the battery might have lasted quite a bit longer but still not as long as the original. Update 12/07/2021: Well it seems that the battery has come back to life. Shortly after writing the original review, the toothbrush started acting normal again. It is possible that for some reason the battery didn't get recharged for a few days but all appears normal with the charger and the charging lights on the toothbrush. The battery now seems much stronger than it did when I wrote the original review. Still, however, two consecutive brushings drains the battery to the point where the second person can't finish. We are now relegated to one person using it in the morning and one person using it in the evening. I've added one star to the original review because the battery now doesn't seem as poor as it did when I wrote the review.
