The first thing I noticed was less gain is needed after installing. But for vocals I couldn’t even notice any difference while hearing records I did. So I think it might do more of a better job for musical instruments. ALSO if you’re using sm58 for podcasts, just tweak with EQ’s and this mic will sound soooo goood! I’m using this mic for almost everything including podcasts. Its a great mic. And if your buying it to reduce white noise or ambient noise, this doesn’t solve it. You gotta buy a good/decent soundboard/mixer to reduce white noise AND treat the room your podcasting in, close AC put carpets on the floor etc. to reduce ambient noise.
