Burning seems reliable and quick, I haven't tested on PC but performance on Mac systems with appropriate software (See paragraph below for details) is quick and reliable. Setup of the drive itself was easy, although if you have a Mac there is one major caveat: The bundled software is for PC only. so if you need authoring software then you will need to find a solution that works for you, which if you have an M1 or M2 Mac could prove a problem as Roxio Toast, the former market leader in burning software for Mac computers has a somewhat spotty reliability record on these newer machines. This is not a reflection on the drive, which remains a solid piece of kit, but more indicative of the less than pro-active attitude many software companies have towards keeping ahead of the curve regarding software production for the Mac platform.
