The tip won't stay in! How am I supposed to install it?

Look carefully at the end of the unit where the tip fits in, you will see an indentation/u-shaped slot. Inside that slot is a little set screw. It has an Allen Head tip (regular screw driver won't work.) The correct size Allen wrench ( hexagon ).. should have come with the product. The Allen Wrench is a thin "L" shaped tool that is typically black in color.Simply loosen the Allen wrench far enough so the tip will slide in place and then tighten the Allen Wrench so the tip is locked in... then it is good to use.If you've lost the allen wrench, they sell inexpensive sets at Wal-Mart, if you have a nearby Hardware Store, take the WEN with you and you only need to buy one wrench versus a complete set.Hope this helps

Is this a good tool for engraving (signing) stained glass?

I use mine on glass and haven't broke any as of yet. An that's even at depth level 5 as times. I just keep something to absorb the shock on backside of glass life thick foam pad.

Mine did not come with a replaceable bit. Where can I purchase a bit?

You should buy dremel diamond tip 1/8" bits. They work grand in this machina.
