Use it on flat surface by unfolding its feet and you have a tripod. Use the C-type clamp on a pole or shelf. I would love to see this same design in steel. Yes, once it starts moving, it flops right over on its side. Had to make sure the ball clamps were in line and the weight of the camera right above it. Long lens? Forget it. After a few days of using it, the lower ball clamp area apparently failed as it no longer clamps at all. Used for very lightweight point and shoots, it would be fine for occasional use.
