Other thing my bottom and top was labeled wrong My experience: I bought this to put in my 2002 passat to go along with my appradio 2 yes the old model. My radio might be different then other double dins. The first day I put it in I realized the radio and the face plate would not go back all the way sucks looks decent but not ultra clean the way I want it. So after a couple days I figured out in the radio din area in the back is a dumb decent sized e peace of plastic blocking the radio from being pushed back all the way. After looking around at some VW forumes, I was led to this install kit. The part is sturdy, and it blends in with the stock dash. I did have to modify the installation slightly. Not any fault of the product however. The cradle behind the stock stereo had been cut (by me) to acommodate a single din unit, so i had to modify the stock radio cage a little more to mount the double din unit solidly. The only problem I found was the slide out cup holder doesn't open as easy due to the cover contacting the DD dash kit. A few minutes with a fine file fixed that. And it wouldnt be an issue if you have a 2003.5 and up since the cupholders were moved to the center console.
