I bought some clear plastic placemats and put these sheets of sticky paws on the placemats. I put them on the counter before leaving the house and I saved the paper backing from the sheets to stick back on them to store them when I'm not using them. The big sheets are way easier than trying to cover a placemat with the smaller tape strips. I tried putting them on our kitchen table. They sit on it so lightly that they will NOT work without ADDITIONALLY taping them in place with scotch scotch tape. (Otherwise they will fly around at the air movement caused by opening doors or light touching, etc.) This already is a HUGE inconvenience cause the next morning I had to try remove the scotch tape - good luck doing that! The sticky sheets of paper will stick to your fingers, clothes everything - rendering 50% of the them non-usable a second time. Also: HOW DO YOU STORE THE PAPER YOU ONCE USED?? Where do you put it? It's sticky as heck but also very easily destroyed.
