So how long do they actually burn for cause the title says 8 hours then in a description it says 6 plus hrs then it states 8 so which is it ?

Depends on the airflow around the candle. I have open candle holders and deeper, more enclosed candle holders. The open ones burn these little tea lights faster than the ones that protect the candle from a stronger airflow. So, they burn between 6 and 8 hours. I love them!

Is there any plastic smell or melting of the plastic cup when burning these candles?

No smell, no dark smoke, and no melting plastic with these plastic clear-cup tea light candles. In fact the whole reason we switched to these instead of the tin-cups is because when the tin-cup ones burn out they make a strong odor, whereas these particular clear-cups there is no odor while burning but especially because there's no "burning stink" when they burn out. So while the tin-cup ones are less expensive, we got tired of the bad odor of the tin-cups when they burn out. These clear-cups are the best of all we've tried!

Do these candles have a lot if wax drippings if tilted?

The wax goes over the wick in 18 minutes!

The 6-7 hour clear tea lights and the 8-hour clear tea lights are the same size but different prices. Is the wax different?
