Good non-flour alternative, questionable on low-carb

*by H***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2015*

I do love the crackers, but the serving size:box size is off. There is no way to get that many servings from a box. AND... the crackers are quite small. I made my own hummus, guacamole and salsa to dip in. The cracker did not stand up to breaking in the humus and absorbed too much water from the salsa. It survived with the guacamole. The aftertaste is slightly sweet, so don't jump in expecting salty. I believe that is from the almonds as I have had similar results when I attempted my own crackers. See below for this.I sought out my own recipe and did a dehydrator version of this, and I actually got a few nice sized crackers for a better serving size for the same nutritional calorie size. I entered all the ingredients and divided it up equally by pre-scoring the crackers so that it would be crudely accurate. In any case, my total batch was still more than the boxed version. Maybe because it was dehydrated? They were good, but in light of hundreds of reviews that stated there were some false nutritional labeling, I became concerned that the products are not accurate (do a simple search for FDA warning to Julian Bakery). I have purchased their almond low carb bread as well as these crackers and sadly, I have had a spike in blood glucose on glucometer. I would not buy this if you are doing low carb or diabetic. I WOULD buy this if you don't care about your carbohydrate intake or like an alternative to flour crackers.

I actually really do like these crackers

*by S***H on Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2014*

I actually really do like these crackers, and I don't work for Julian Bakery or have any association with them at all! I haven't eaten real crackers in years and these fill the void nicely. I can be prone to eating too many of them at once though, I have to watch that. The thing that drives me crazy about these though, and it's really just a silly thing but it makes me laugh every time, is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to open the box in such a way so that you can actually close it again. I've taken to making it my personal challenge to open the box so that I can reclose the top using the flaps, but you CAN'T, I mean you really can't do it. The flaps rip and become useless. The reason this actually is a big deal is that if you don't close the box and somewhat seal them up they go stale pretty fast. They lose their crunch and taste stale if you can't somehow get them sort of sealed up. But that's my only complaint. As for the customer service, I've had both ends of the spectrum with them--I've had them offer to replace items that were crumbly when I got them (the wraps), and I've also had them refuse to respond to e-mails asking them where my package was. I like many of their products enough that I keep buying them and will in the future.

    Good Product, but Not Economical

*by F***I on Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2014*

On the plus side, these crackers have a subtle flavor, and provide a very chip-like experience. On the negative side, these crackers have a very subtle flavor, and provide a very chip-like experience.I should explain. The subtle flavor of these crackers is one that they're best left to sit on your tongue and savor for a while. But you won't want to do that. You'll want to eat them like chips. At the rate they are liable to be eaten in practice, they will be overeaten, and the meager amount you get for the price leaves your wallet feeling empty, too.I can't entirely blame the company for that, since it's a fact of the product they're making-- almonds are nuts, and nuts tend to be expensive. Buying a product that is almost entirely made of compressed nuts isn't likely to be cheap. But the very nature of that means that you have to have tempered expectations with this product. It's a 'sometimes food', and you can't eat it as freely as you do chips. And yet, that's the sort of promise a product like this conveys. It's what you're longing for.But you can't have that. It doesn't work that way.
