How do I get my cat to use the NERO instead of the sofa?

Most cats take to it within days. Mount it near where they already scratch and rub catnip into the sisal. If they ignore it, it’s usually mounted too high — lower it to their reach. Wall-fixed means it never wobbles, so cats learn to trust it.

How does the replaceable sisal mat work, and how often will I replace it?

When the woven sisal wears, you swap just the mat — not the unit. Lift the caps, unscrew it from the wall, change the Velcro-backed mat, re-screw the same holes. Screwdriver only, no re-drilling. Mats are $19.99; the solid pine frame lasts years.

Will the NERO hold up for a Maine Coon, or for more than one cat?

Yes. At 29.5″ it gives large breeds like Maine Coons and Ragdolls a full stretch that 18–24″ posts can't. Wall mounted it stays solid under a heavy scratcher and suits multi-cat homes — sturdy enough for several cats to share.

What kind of wall do I need, and will it damage a rental?

NERO mounts to a wall stud with the included fixings, or to drywall with standard anchors (not included). You'll need a drill and screwdriver. If you move it, it leaves just two small holes that patch in minutes.

Is the NERO safe for kittens and cats that chew?

Yes. Plain untreated pine, natural woven sisal, birch-plywood caps with a kitty-safe finish — no glue, no staples, no loose parts. The Velcro sits flush to the wall, out of reach once mounted. Mount it low for a kitten and raise it as they grow.
