Essentially 1”. **Q: Can this tool be used to measure the dimensions of gemstones set in a bracelet?** A: It’s probably not the right tool, especially for gems, as it’s accuracy is ‘iffy’ at best. This is also more for measuring the thickness of a piece, rather than the geometry of a piece. All of my mitutoyo “expensive gauges’ read the same, and every other cheap caliper I own reads something “close”. It was well worth the cost.
