I am the nanny of a little boy who is 9 years old and has a tutor twice a week after school. He works with him on math and reading and the little boy really likes to play games so this is a whole lot more fun than doing worksheets, especially since ONE of those days a week he has reading help for an hour after scool AND then the tutor at home for an hour and a half! A bit much... I like that it can start very basic for a young child, with only addition and subtraction, and you can add more operations as the child grows. He isn't quite into negative numbers yet, but we will be adding that very soon. Then we will go on to even more functions, including exponents. Great game, he loves it. It really helps the mind become more creative in manipulating numbers to achieve the target of a specific number, 5. AND the games don't go on forever. Judging by the picture I expected a much larger game. Small size though, is practical to carry around. We only played about 2 games - adults only. The beginning phases, adding andsubtracting seemed ok. I can see that the game can be quite challenging when all functions are used.
