The glass top that came with the pot had nothing to hold it in place and it pulled out when trying to remove the lid. This replacement knob comes with a fitting for the inside of the lid which holds the knob securely in place. Not only did I break the glass but the plastic ring that fits between the glass and the lid also got broken.I couldn’t find one locally. Maybe I didn’t look hard enough. Anyway, I went here on Amazon and found this one. It seemed perfect from the description. I was so excited after I finally ordered and received it. But my joy was crushed after I installed it and it didn’t fit well. It’s loose. Since I would remove the lid by pulling up on the glass, I don’t feel comfortable about doing that now. What I do is not completely close the lid. That way there isn’t a lot of pulling on an already loose glass.I occasionally slightly tighten it. That is done before I make a pot of coffee. This is usable. It’ll do. But I wish it was better. Substitutes or replacements are often not as good. Though I suppose something is better than nothing.
