## Description

Product description ELEGRP LIGHTING CONTROLS--Motion Sensor Light Switches INNOVATIVE PIR TECHNOLOGY The ELEGRP motion sensor switch uses passive infrared (PIR) detection technology via a segmented Fresnel lens to monitor a room for occupancy. This specialized lens divides the field of view into sensor zones. When a person passes into or out of a sensor zone, the sensor detects motion and switches the lights on. If the sensor detects human motion before the TIME delay elapses, the sensor will re-clock for another TIME setting cycle before it automatically turns off the loads. If the sensor switch is kept being triggered by human motions, it’ll keep the light on until time delay elapses and no human motion is being detected during this period, or manually switched off. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Works with 300W LED, 300W CFL and 600W incandescent light bulbs on the market. Extremely low standby power consumption. Flame resistant material has reached the highest grade of 5VA. UL & CUL listed. MULTIPLE SETTING MODES - Features multiple setting modes for different usage scenarios at home ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Set It Into An Occupancy Sensor Switch - OCC Mode: Automatic ON & Automatic OFF Set delay TIME to " • " , "0", “1” , “2” or "3" as desired. Set human body SENSOR sensitivity as desired. Set LIGHT sensitivity to “1”, “2” or "3" as desired. DO NOT set the LIGHT to " • ". The device will turn on the loads automatically when triggered by motion and turn off the loads automatically when the time delay elapses. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Set It Into A Vacancy Sensor Switch - VAC Mode: Manual ON & Automatic OFF Set LIGHT sensitivity fully counterclockwise to " • " to disable automatic ON function. The device will turn on the loads manually only and turn off the loads automatically when the time delay elapses. LARGE COVERAGE This motion sensor switch provides an adjustable 120-degree field of view with optional adjustments for sensitivity, ambient light override, and delayed off time. The sensor detects motion in areas up to 900 square feet and up to 35 feet from the sensor, ideal for the porch, closet, garage, hallway, stairs, basement, pantry and laundry room, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The inside LED indicator will flash when the sensor detects human motions. Install the sensor switch about 4 feet from the floor to get a better experience. Hot objects or moving air currents can affect the performance of the sensing switch. The sensing switch requires an unobstructed view of room occupants to detect motion. ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Enjoy Energy Saving, Convenient and Safe Life Energy Savings Save cost and energy by having the unused lights and fans turned OFF automatically, preventing the light from turning on if it is already bright. Never leave a light on by mistake again. Vacancy mode’s manual-ON feature saves further energy by ensuring lights are only turned on when needed. Hands Free Keep your lighting control hands-free as you walk into your home with groceries or into the laundry room with a full basket. The motion sensor switch is ideal for rooms you typically enter with your hands full, regardless of whether they are located in the home or workplace. Safety ELEGRP SP17OS motion sensor light switch is the safe choice for seniors, children, and employees, making sure that lights automatically turn ON allowing occupants to see where they are going to reduce the risk of trip-and-fall accidents. Important FAQ 1. Q: My house does not have the ground wire, can I use the neutral wire instead? A: No! This motion sensor switch requires an effective ground wire . Check your house before ordering. The neutral wire is not required to connect. 2. Q: I connected all the wires, including the ground wire, but it did not work. Is the switch faulty? Q: I connected all the wires, but the light stays on all the time, I could not turn off the light even manually. Is the switch faulty? A: There may be 2 reasons 1): The Hot and Load wires are reversed. Please simply reverse the black and red wiring of the sensor switch, and try again. 2): The ground wire is not connected well or the ground wire is ineffective. Please consult a professional electrician. 3. Q: How do I know if it is wired correctly or not? A: Please check if the LED indicator inside the motion sensor switch flashed or not when you approached it? 1) If yes, it means that this motion sensor switch was wired correctly. 2) If not, it means that this motion sensor switch was false wired or un-grounded. Please rewire the sensor switch. If the LED inside the motion sensor still doesn't flash, the most probable cause is that the ground wire is ineffective, please consult a professional electrician. ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Note: Please do not press the switch button continuously. Press it once every 3 seconds. Review: Love this thing! Works great! - MOTION SENSOR LIGHT SWITCH I am NOT an electrician, and this little project scared me, because I don’t like messing with AC current. I did, however, manage to flip the breaker (cut the power) and successfully install this switch. This, despite the fact that my house was built in 1977. Before I ordered this, I took the old plate off of the old switch and looked inside to see if there was a ground. I did see some shiny copper in the back of the tiny old switch box, assumed it was ground (it was), and bought this switch. If any of you have a house like mine, you will realize that every light switch has two black wires attached to it. One wire is the LINE, and one is the LOAD. Without getting into the physics of AC current, this essentially means the SOURCE of the current, and the DESTINATION. Again, not an accurate physical description, but, a logistically apt metaphor. BONUS #1: This switch doesn’t require a ‘neutral’ connection. That is to say, you don’t have to cut into the ‘white’ wires in the box. BIG PLUS for me, as this little switch box seemed to be a fairly major junction for the rest of my house… Anyway, the first step (after cutting the power, of course), was to unscrew the old switch from the box. It became clear what was LINE and what was LOAD. Almost everything was connected to LINE, and there were a couple of wires that headed out to the garage lights that I wanted to control – the LOAD. After that, it did take a little while for me to disconnect the old switch, that was almost as old as I am, from the black leads. Then I had to turn to the ground. It was all kinds of shiny copper in the back of my switch box (behind all of the white wires). I used the same small screwdriver that I used to remove the old plate and switch to pull the wires forward. I then started to connect the new switch, by wrapping the green wire (right handed, as that’s the way the nuts twist on) around the end of the collection of ground wires, and screwing on the wire nut. BONUS #2: The 3 wire nuts that are included are long for their size, helping to protect against any short circuits; and, are pretty sturdy when you are screwing them on. I then proceeded to do the same with the LINE and LOAD wires, wrapping the black and red wires (respectively) first. However, I did find that the exposed wires that came out of my old switch to be too long for comfort, and trimmed them back before screwing on the nuts. With everything connected, I carefully stuffed (if there is such a thing) all of the wires back into the box, and screwed the new switch into place. It acted a little weird, at first. I say this because the switch, lights, and breaker box are all in my garage; so, I could see what happened when I flipped the breaker back on. The lights came back on immediately, then went back off, then came back on. All in under two minutes. I read somewhere that you should allow the switch to ‘boot’, whatever that means. After the ‘boot’ period, though, EVERYTHING HAS WORKED GREAT! I am so tickled. Something so simple has made such a wonderful difference in my life. We have dealt with this garage light problem every since we bought our house almost 22 years ago. Soooo awesome! Even my wife is skeptically excited. Her comments were, ‘It works!’. Shortly thereafter, she asked me to turn on the light in the laundry room for her. I told her that if she liked the garage thing, that I could do the same for the laundry room. BONUS #3: You can still cut your lights on and off manually. This wasn’t clear to me in the descriptions; but, regardless of your settings, you can use the ‘button’ to both turn on AND turn off your lights. However, and this makes sense, after you manually turn OFF your lights, there is a 30 second period before motion will turn the lights back on.
Review: Reliable and convenient - Second purchase. Got a couple of super cheap versions on Temu but they proved to be too flaky, turned on randomly. Found this model as a moderately priced alternative so got one for laundry room and it’s been perfect. No false triggers. With the master bedroom closet also randomly turning on, I just ordered another of these and installed it - so far so good. No more random light coming on. Easy to install although box was fairly snug. The settings seem good for our needs. Sensitivity on medium reacts perfectly and it’s nice it maintains the light on during motion without timing out and resetting like the el cheapo from Temu. Definitely worth the extra cost. I really don’t know what you get for 2x the cost for a big name brand, this seems pretty darn reliable.
