Al-Ghazzali On Knowing Yourself and God

There is a good reason Al-Ghazali is acknowledged as the first Muslim scholar who laid the foundation of rational thinking in the interpretation of Islamic beliefs and rituals. He is also regarded as one of the founders of Sufism. In this short translation, the topic of introspection to understand universal truths and the very meaning of human existence is masterfully covered. He uses analogies and allegories to explain complex thought processes that many of us use to intuitively understand what we can observe and feel but find it hard to articulate to others. It is amazing that a person who lived a thousand years ago can resonate with believers living today! However, his arguments are wasted if the reader is a die-hard atheist or a non-believer. Such a person would find many holes to poke in Al-Ghazali’s reasoning.

Very interesting

This is a small in content but very rich in merit book. The world famous of all time in Islamic philosophy, in my opinion, very skilfully connected the knowledge of self to the knowledge of God, such a good food for the brain. This opens up new a horizon of thinking.

This books provides the means for deep reflection and a way to be able to understand your heart and how to protect it. Very good book.

A very spiritual read about the Sufi approach to God. It was nice.

Dear ummah , please read ! Reflect , build understanding and fight the arrogant ignorance within and outside. This book is my first book if ghazali , and it has touched me so so deeply. Countless doors have opened inside me and will continue reading him and many other visionaries, mystics, philosophers ..it's our responsibility to educate ourselves, we have lost the reading culture , we have turned into uninformed consumers making irrational choices, Let's spend our time , energy and money in something that will Benefit our mind and heart, in this work and in the hereafter
