You cannot cook anything under pressure with a glass lid. But if u are cooking like "sauté ".. then u can. **Q: Is it worth $17 extra dollars to buy one with glass lid one vs. the regular lid one ?** A: I think that depends on you.. would you store leftovers in the pot? (I tend to.) Would you want to cover the food for any period of time after cooking / before serving? If you wanted to first purchase the cooker and then decide, the lid sells for $16-17 on amazon, so you can purchase it later without losing anything. I am planning to purchase the silicone cover that fits the pot. I didn't get the glass one and I am using a lid from another pot I have... a lid that is too big, but does the job for now.
