Also, it won't allow you to use the program if you have any other version of rental property manager on your computer. If it the version you bought is "2014" and you have no other versions of the same program on your computer, I would call Quicken Customer Support. **Q: If you have had a bad experience with Quicken Rental Property Manager, what rental property software did you buy in its place?** A: I didn't have any rental property software prior to buying Quicken Rental Property Manager. Excel is all I used before Quicken. I know I'm not using all the functionality that's available in the application, but so far everything I've used I've been satisfied with. **Q: will this software work with vista?** A: I don't have Vista. That would be a question for Intuit. **Q: is there much difference between 2013 & 2014 to make it worth buying?** A: I upgraded from 2012 and only purchased it because it was on sale for 50% off. But overall, I am far ahead being able to get all my info organized and to my accountant at tax time. ### ⭐ Tech support hostage up-selling will not be tolerated. *by T***I on May 20, 2015* My wife and I have been tag-teaming learning Quicken RPM 2014 and have been using it since the start of 2014. We have noticed no issues with it and have always thought the issue with it was us (in terms of learning curve). So now in 2015, we wanted to add an refinance, which involves adding a new account and paying out the old (i.e. payoff). Online tutorials showed an easy split of funds from the new account. We tried with no success to do it as the instructions remotely resembled the actual product. So we called in for tech support. The tech support is from India and you can barely understand the person who asks you to repeat yourself multiple times. But that is not the issue with us. He didn't even appear to understand what we were asking him to do or wanted to know our concerns. Instead he jumped straight to a conclusion that we had an issue. So, he put us on hold and had another tech come on the line who remote into our computer and told us he had to run diagnostic on the software. A moment later the C: prompt came on and he was now scanning our entire C drive! When I asked what the guy (named SKY) was doing he was agitated immediately and attacked me and question me as to whether I wanted my problem fixed or not. I said that I simply wanted to understand how what he was doing was even related to my concern. He said he could not help me answer my question. He only is tasked with understanding whether Quicken has issues or not. After he ran his diagnostic, he came on the line and said that we had corruption in our data file. If we had corruption, we certainly didn't see it..And, how in th world did an simple question about splitting transactions end up being a corrupt file issue? In any case, his next pitch was what makes this software and Inuit dead for us. He said that he'd have tech support which comprises of an INTUIT PRO ADVISOR and CISCO CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN. He pulled up a notepad doc that outlined the functions each of these two support personnel will perform. I will post a photo of the screen shot I captured with my phone. To top it off, he said the INTUIT ADVISER would cost us ~$170 and the CISCO CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN will cost us ~$240. Then when I told him I didn't understand how a simple call turns into an up-sale pitch, he simply hung up. I can't believe Intuit has this type of support and tactic. As a result of this one experience, I no longer trust Intuit. I'm done FOREVER! A note to Intuit, when you are the trusted financial software provider for someone, you do not want to do anything to risk that relationship. With this experience today, I say you definitely have earn my DISTRUST. And so, with all that I have invested in INTUIT, I will no longer support or purchase INTUIT software.
