Thanks** A: The description says it's one piece and the pictures show one piece, but the two I purchased have glued-on handles. I'm not happy, but I need them now so I have to keep them. But be aware that they absolutely are not carved from one piece. **Q: What type of wood is used?** A: I do not know the type of wood. It did not seem to be a very high-quality wood.
