Obviously, since you can only feel what you're doing when unscrewing the valve cores, it takes some feel and can be tricky to get them to come out the first try, especially if the pin in the middle is bent. I found it is best to make sure the pin is straight and the core tool can catch a hold of it before you screw the device to the service port. So what if it takes a few tries, it's way better than the alternative!!!
