Bench Anvil Basic Combo Kit -Ring Mandrels, Anvil, and V Slot Bench Pin SFC Tools - 13-136

I'm just getting started with jewlery making at home to sell locally and on etsy. This is perfect for all semiprecious and precious metal work. I mostly work copper now but plan to move to silver soon. I bought the matching oval bracelet mandrel because I needed a solid metal mandrel to work harden bracelets. I love how they offer these items separately and this basic kit is a fantastic start to my new hobby/business. Excellent stuff, would definitely recommend starting here... and brand loyalty to expand the set as you need.

Arrived neatly packaged, all parts in perfect shape. The ring mandrel, and both pins (nice sturdy pins) all fit in their proper places. The pins have to be placed in the slot before you tighten down the anvil, I've never owned an anvil so I didn't know that. I use an old desk as a jewelry bench, so I had doubts that it would securely attach to the shallow overhanging desktop, it did! I originally wanted a simple ($20) bench pin, so this is quite fancy for a hobby jeweler. I am very pleased with this anvil.

Exactly what I was looking for.

Works really well, but the spacing for thicker counter tops falters. I have managed this by putting a thick steel plate on my counter top that sticks out about and inch and a half. The weight of the steel plate is all that’s needed.

Very nice set up for the bench pin and the ring mandrel. Only issue is the anvil. It is very soft. I sanded the original face to remove all of the production marks. When I was using my chasing hammer I noticed the hammer was leaving rather deep marks in the anvil. The anvil is only usable with non metallic hammers.

One of the only available bench pins on Amazon that ACTUALLY supports a 2 inch bench top Construction, sturdiness of the metal bits (clamp and anvil) are unexpectedly good. Two included wooden pins are smallish but wells designed and held rigid by the clamp mechanism. The provided mandrel locks into place (with screw clamp) tightly and allows rigid platform (without bounce or rattle) for hammering on Very impressed- replaced my old flimsy bench pin system and haven’t looked back Worth every penny
